Not a collection of labels. A selection
Every wine that comes into La Bidule first passes through the glass. We taste it, assess its place of origin, the producer's work and above all what it manages to communicate when we drink it.
That is why familiar appellations sit alongside less obvious grape varieties on our shelves, small family wineries alongside producers who interpret their land with personality. We do not seek difference at all costs: we seek good, coherent wines that leave something with you after the tasting.

From the Bergamo area to the rest of the world

CLOSE TO HOME
We start with Lombardy and the Bergamo area, looking for producers who deserve space not simply because they are nearby, but because they convince us in the glass. Franciacorta, Valcalepio, Valtellina, Oltrepò Pavese and other areas of the region are an important part of our selection.
ITALY
We travel the length of the country, with a particular curiosity for native grape varieties, less-travelled appellations and producers who manage to express their territory without becoming interchangeable. Sometimes that means Barolo or Lugana, other times Pallagrello, Tintilia or something we had never encountered before.
BEYOND THE BORDER
France has an important place in our selection, but we do not stop there. We choose wines from other countries whenever we find a place, style or approach to winemaking that adds something meaningful to our selection.
We also pay particular attention to wineries led by women and to family-run businesses: not as a label to display, but as part of the way we choose the stories and people we want to give space to.

By the glass, something is always changing
Our by-the-glass selection is not static. It changes throughout the year and often from one week to the next.
We like to use wines by the glass to help you discover something you might not have ordered from the name alone: a little-known grape variety, an unusual method, or simply a wine we are excited about at that moment, as long as it is well made.
You can stop for just one glass or ask us to guide you through the choice. You do not need to know wine: just tell us what you like - or even what you do not like.
Two sommeliers, but no exam to pass.
We are both AIS Sommeliers, but when you choose a bottle we do not start with a lesson. We start with you.
We can talk about grape varieties, regions, vintages, winemaking and pairings as much as you like. Or we can simply ask a few questions and look together for something that will make you want to fill your glass again.
"I’d like a red, but not too heavy."
Perfect. That is already a very good place to start.
"I’m bringing a bottle to dinner but I don’t know what they’re cooking."
It happens more often than you might think.
"I’d like to try something I don’t know."
That is one of the requests we like best...
"I know nothing about wine."
No problem. You do not need to know wine to know what you like.

To drink here or take away.
Every bottle on La Bidule's shelves can be purchased to take away or enjoyed at the table, served at the correct temperature.
If you are only looking for a glass, there is always a rotating selection. If you would like something to eat with it, you can choose from cured meats and cheeses from Bergamo, focaccia, pinsa and the other dishes from our kitchen.
